About Helene

Hello,
Welcome to Hélène's class. I am a primary school teacher from France, and I have primarily taught first grade (CP)—the year when children in France learn to read and write. I also spent four years teaching in Djibouti, working with children from various countries.
I offer my services to help you:
- Speak French correctly, with a strong focus on vocabulary and pronunciation.
- Learn about French culture.
- Read and write any French text with ease.

Bienvenue dans la classe d'Hélène. Je suis professeur des écoles en France et j'ai enseigné principalement en CP, l'année où on apprend à lire et à écrire en France. J'ai également enseigné à Djibouti 4 ans avec des enfants provenant de plusieurs pays.
Je vous propose donc mes compétences pour :
- Parler correctement français avec un travail important sur le vocabulaire et la prononciation.
- Apprendre quelques notions de la culture française
- Lire et écrire facilement n'importe quel texte français.

About the lesson

As a French primary school teacher, I can tailor my teaching methods to your level. Whether you are a parent whose child wants to learn French, or an adult eager to learn the language—out of personal interest or necessity—I will customize the lessons to suit your needs and skills.

During our sessions, we will cover vocabulary, but the main focus will be on speaking. The goal is for you to speak like a native speaker. We will also touch upon aspects of French culture (such as etiquette, the formal "vous" form, and that famous French irony). A brief part of the lesson will be dedicated to learning to read in French (studying sounds and pronunciation; you’ll see, it’s not that complicated!).

For the time being, I am only available on weekends; however, I will provide short review exercises or vocabulary activities—requiring just five minutes each evening—to ensure continuity in your learning between our video sessions.

En tant que professeur des écoles en France, je peux adapter mes méthodes pédagogiques à votre niveau. Que vous soyez un parent dont l'enfant souhaite apprendre le français, ou un adulte désireux d'apprendre la langue — par intérêt personnel ou par nécessité — je personnaliserai les cours en fonction de vos besoins et de vos compétences.

Lors de nos séances, nous aborderons le vocabulaire, mais l'accent sera mis principalement sur l'expression orale. L'objectif est que vous parliez comme un locuteur natif. Nous évoquerons également certains aspects de la culture française (comme les règles de politesse, le vouvoiement ou la fameuse ironie française). Une courte partie de la leçon sera consacrée à l'apprentissage de la lecture en français (étude des sons et de la prononciation ; vous verrez, ce n'est pas si compliqué !).

Pour l'instant, je ne suis disponible que le week-end ; toutefois, je vous proposerai de courts exercices de révision ou des activités de vocabulaire — ne nécessitant que cinq minutes chaque soir — afin d'assurer la continuité de votre apprentissage entre nos séances en visioconférence.
