About Iris
I know that taking French lessons can be hard (I am honestly so grateful to be a French native speaker), but I am also very glad to be able to use my expertise to help others in need. I love being with kids and I love transmitting what I learned over the years – and what I wish I had known – to younger generations, so this job is made for me! I am offering lessons for beginners or intermediate students in French (elementary and middle-school).
In my tutoring sessions, I would start by identifying the specific needs of the student (grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing...). I would then create some fun practice exercises or activities so that the student is both entertained and challenged. I would end by doing a short evaluation of what the student took away from the lesson, either through a game or quiz. My main objective is that the student has the keys to do it again in the future. That is when I know that my teaching method is efficient. I also think that it is important to have spontaneous talks with the student and not always planned lessons, especially since I am a language tutor.
