About Ashleigh

An experienced, multi-lingual tutor, fluent in English, French, Spanish and Chinese. I am a linguist at heart, also speaking German, Japanese, Italian and Afrikaans to differing degrees. I hold a BA in French and Spanish (with distinctions in Oral French and Spoken Spanish) as well as an HSK L4 in Mandarin Chinese. I have experience of living, and teaching, in Spain and China, and have utilised my languages in a professional capacity (working with partners and businesses in China, Taiwan, Chile, France, Senegal, Mexico, Nicaragua). I worked as a language assistant at a school in Spain, and have a range of tutoring experience, having taught students from 5 years old through to 60+. I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate.

About the lesson

I take a client-centred approach to tutoring, ensuring that sessions are tailored to maximise learning in a fun and impactful way, and are aligned with your learning goals. Sessions typically include a mix of learning new vocabulary/grammar, consolidating and reviewing previous learnings, speaking/conversation practice, listening/reading exercises etc. Sessions are adapted to the student to ensure they are aligned with individual learning needs and ability levels.

Ashleigh's a great teacher! She helped me with conversation practice, helping me to speak with more fluency, correcting me as needed without interrupting. She explained the corrections clearly so that I could understand and improve. She ensured the conversation was at the right level to stretch my language skills without being too difficult. I would highly recommend her as a teacher!
