About Alyssa
Hi! I'm Alyssa, a freshman at Pace University in NYC majoring in Computer Science. Whether it's robotics, machine learning, AI, 3D printing, or hardcore coding, I have a passion for it all. I started teaching myself to code when I was about 10 years old, and now I'm here to share that passion with others. While I'm still learning and growing in the field, I’m excited to provide support and enthusiasm to students who need help with coding.
I believe computer science is a crucial aspect of our evolving world, and if you and I can master its fundamentals, we’ll be well-prepared to shape the future. Let’s explore the world of coding together and unlock our potential!

A typical lesson plan looks like the following:
1. Overview/Placement exam: For me, the tutor, to get a better understanding of where my student stands in terms of experience in the subject.
2. Warm-up and key Activities: Allow student to refresh their memory with code knowledge, and/or introduce them to fundamental concepts.
3. Code Along and Guided Practice: The most important part of our lesson, where we run trial and error, learn new concepts, and student can visually demonstrate their mastery through small coding exercises.
4. Independent Practice and Reflection: Student works on a separate mini assignment on their own, followed by a quick reflection on the entire lesson. Student can provide feedback for me to prepare and take into account for our next session.
5. Homework: We all hate homework, but practice makes perfect. Student will be assigned a small assignment to complete over a course of multiple days - completion is not required but is recommended.
