Lessons with Kiri can feel like learning with a close friend, lessons are tailored to your level and needs. Lessons are super engaging and fun, a great way to practice vocabulary in Japanese without feeling embarrassed or insecure. Even after the first few lessons I was already able to take away from it a few phrases that I could use confidently in conversation.

I’ve always found writing and reading more difficult but Kiri breaks down the characters and sounds very clearly in a memorable way. Every lesson I learn something new and interesting for example that Kanji are adapted Chinese characters where each symbol represents a word, idea, or concept, whereas, Hiragana and katakana are phonetic scripts, meaning their individual characters represent sounds (syllables) that when put together sound out to make a word, similar to in English.

Overall Kiri is a lovely person and amazing teacher. I would highly recommend to anyone eager to learn Japanese no matter your skill level. She also has great movie recommendations to watch and improve your Japanese!
