About Anthony
Music has always been an incredibly important part of my identity. I grew up in a musical family with my mother being a concert pianist and my brother and I studying violin from an early age. At the age of 9, I began studying violin at the Royal Academy of Music in London where I eventually graduated with a performance Diploma as well as a Teaching Licentiate. After graduating in 2007, I enjoyed a busy performance schedule throughout Europe. I eventually moved to Shanghai, China, where I worked as a Violin professor in two International Schools for 8 years, before being invited to become Concert Master of the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra. After settling in Canada with my family 3 years ago, I now regularly teach students in the Vancouver area of all ages from beginner to advanced.

My ambition as an educator is to share the values and skills gained from 30+ years of playing the violin. I want to provide students with the necessary tools to expand their knowledge and enthusiasm, allowing them to fulfill their goals as a musician. I work with students of all ages and abilities towards short-term goals, allowing them to quickly build their confidence and enjoy the process of learning the violin. Giving students the motivation to continue practicing and share what they have learned through regular performance is vitally important. Many of my students also take ABRSM examinations, as it is an excellent way to build knowledge and incrementally unlock a student's musical potential.
