About Scarlett
I am a 20-year-old Durham university student with a background in social sciences, where I’ve developed strong analytical and communication skills.
I am a trained Welfare Officer at my college which has honed the vital skills of empathy, sensitivity, and patience through offering support services to my college community.
I have experience volunteering as an English teaching assistant/ 1:1 tutor and working at a Children’s Summer Camp. From these experiences, I have learned how to support, engage, and build confidence in young people: skills I am eager to bring into tutoring to help students reach their full potential.

- I take an empathetic, student-centred approach, creating a supportive environment and adapting lessons to how each student learns best.
- With experience as an English teaching assistant and tutor, and in wider children’s settings, I build trust and engagement while guiding students to think independently, developing confidence and a deeper understanding beyond memorisation.
- I break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps, using interactive practice to keep lessons engaging and approachable.
