About Polina

I've won 18 international competitions.
Winning first prize in the Flier Competition enabled me to make my New York debut concert at Carnegie Weill Hall in 2018.
I perform regularly throughout Europe, USA and Russia.
In 2019 I started my own house concert series with online streaming and commentary in three languages. These concerts regularly sell out with hundreds of online listeners.
I have more than 15 years of experience as a piano teacher.

About the lesson

After graduating from the most famous professional music institutions in Russia with a thousand hours of pedagogical practice, in 2010, parallel to my career as a concert pianist, I also started teaching. I love sharing my musical knowledge with my students, giving them the joy and all the necessary skills to eventually become independent in their musical journey.

I am also very sensitive to the needs of individual students, whether they are learning piano for fun or at a professional level. My point is not only to teach a musical piece, but also to give a background of music theory and history and pay a lot of attention to technique and attitude on the piano.

Enthusiasm, patience and valuable tips are of great importance during the lessons.

I offer home lessons because I have a beautiful new KAWAI piano. I can also come to your house. I recommend having classes twice a week for best results. But depending on the student, we decide together what would work best: twice or once a week, and 45 or 60 minutes an hour.

In addition to solo piano, I teach piano duets/duets and chamber music for various instruments with piano.

I teach in German, English and Russian.

Wendy is definitely one of my favorite students. She is making an amazing progress, and I enjoy our lessons a lot. She is very organized and disciplined, and asks many great and very specific questions. Wendy digs really deep into the learning process, and it is very inspiring to see.

Seit etwas mehr als 2,5 Jahren habe ich als Wiedereinsteigerin Klavierunterricht bei Polina. In dieser Zeit habe ich sehr viel dazu gelernt - musikalisch und technisch. Ich hatte noch nie so guten Klavierunterricht! Die Begeisterung, mit der Polina als Konzertpianistin spielt, versteht sie, weiter zu geben. Der Unterricht ist anspruchsvoll, man nimmt sehr viel mit und vor allem macht es großen Spaß. Polina findet genau das richtige Maß, um mich weder zu über- noch zu unterfordern und ist sehr geduldig. Sie kann sehr gut erklären in einer sehr bildhaften und verständlichen Sprache. Ich hatte zunächst Präsenzunterricht und nun wegen eines Umzugs von Polina Online-Unterricht. Beide Varianten funktionieren prima. Polina hat eine nette, liebe und herzliche Art. Mein Fazit: Unterricht der Extra-Klasse, den ich wärmstens empfehlen kann!
