About Matt
I was trained 20 years ago as an industrial designer, and have now worked across a range of organisations in government, business and the social sector. My work has involved the design of products, services, and helping organisations integrate the design function into how they operate. I have also been involved in establishing design internships, and mentoring designers. I have a deep belief that designers can be powerful leaders in organisations due to their ability to understand the details of what the organisation offers, as well as the big picture of where the organisation is headed.

My lessons are for anyone in the design profession who’s collaborating with other experts—whether they’re software developers, product managers, or beyond. Drawing on over 20 years of experience with approaches like design thinking, agile, Jobs to Be Done, and design sprints, I focus on what really works for your organisation. Sessions run 60 minutes, starting with a quick dose of different design approaches, then diving into practical examples and Q&A. We’ll tackle effective collaboration, uncovering customer insights, and sharpening your impact as a designer. I deeply believe that designers can have a powerful leadership role in organisations.
