Who Am I, and Why Do I Want to Teach You?

Hello, future students!

My name is Balarm Etowa, and I am a professional in Health Information Management with a strong interest in technology, digital skills, and education.

You may be wondering, “Why does someone in Health Information Management want to teach HTML and Frontend Development?”

The answer is simple: the future of healthcare is digital.

Healthcare is no longer limited to files, folders, and paperwork. Today, health information is increasingly managed, presented, and accessed through digital platforms. Websites, electronic health systems, online forms, patient portals, dashboards, and health applications all depend on technology.

I want to teach because I believe that students should not only understand their profession—they should also understand the technology transforming their profession.

Frontend Development is the process of creating the part of a website or web application that users see and interact with. It involves turning ideas, designs, and information into functional and attractive digital experiences.

As a frontend developer, you learn how to build webpages, navigation menus, forms, buttons, dashboards, and other interactive elements that make websites easy and enjoyable to use.

The three fundamental technologies of frontend development are:

- HTML – provides the structure and content of a webpage.
- CSS – controls the appearance, layout, colors, spacing, and overall design.
- JavaScript – adds functionality, interaction, and dynamic behavior.

For students in Health Information Management, frontend development is a valuable digital skill. Healthcare organizations increasingly depend on websites, patient portals, online registration systems, health education platforms, appointment interfaces, and other digital solutions.
