About Caroline
It has always been my passion to share my love of music with others, focusing on enjoyment and progress. I am endlessly patient and understand very much how it can feel frustrating at times when learning a new thing or piece of music. With my academic background (a degree in classical music, grade 8s instruments, post-graduate certificate in education) and my professional experience as a life-long performer and a teacher of 19 years, I have the skills, knowledge and understanding to be a passionate and compassionate tutor of piano, violin, viola and theory of music.

I am a classical musician, so my approach to teaching music is in the classical tradition- including how to read music for your chosen instrument, how to play with musicality and how to practise effectively and efficiently. Beginners and up to grade 2/3 usually choose to have weekly half-hour lessons, and pupils working towards grades 4/5 upwards will typically have hour-long lessons. Over the past 19 years, I have taught people aged 5-95 and with a range of different needs, aims and expectations. I use a wide range of written music from Bach to Beyoncé to help my students achieve their goals.
