About Bethany
I am a fully qualified teacher specialising in English. I completed my undergraduate degree (in teaching with English specialism) at the University of Reading, during which time I gained the role of peer mentor, which involved offering writing support and proofreading sessions with fellow students. I graduated with a 1st Class Hons degree. Following graduation, I taught a KS2 class at a school near Reading for 1 year. I then went on to study for a masters degree in psychology and education at the University of Sheffield, which I have recently completed with a Distinction grade. I have experience in academic writing up to masters level, including essay and dissertation writing, lab reports etc.

I adapt my approach depending on the individual needs of each person I am working with. When offering essay writing support, this is largely driven by the brief of the assessment, the writing style of the student and the specific area they feel they would like guidance on e.g. structuring or forming an overall argument. I also offer proofreading services, which involves reading pieces of writing to identify general mistakes e.g. spelling or grammatical errors, as well as offering general feedback on the written piece, to help aid improvement before submission.
