About Rebecca
I am a fully qualified mathematics teacher, having gained my PGCE qualification in secondary mathematics education from Kings College London. I have 9 years experience of tutoring and currently tutor both online and in person.
For online tutoring I use bitpaper, an interactive whiteboard and software such as DESMOS and geogebra to make mathematics fun, engaging and creative!

My passion for mathematics and for being creative shines through in my lessons. By allowing space for creativity we learn new concepts and develop our understanding most effectively. Not only is the process enjoyable but also it enables our minds to engage in a way that is most receptive to learning. One such example I used last week was using the Spotify shuffle function on a music playlist to explore expected frequencies and probability...Much more fun and engaging than being asked to copy and then just learn the formula!
I also teach for mastery, being a believer that depth of understanding is fundamental for long term progress and success in examinations. To do this I like to use a variety of visual representations and draw on real life examples, shaped around the preferred learning style and experiences of each student.
