About Helen
I’m an English Literature graduate with a background in media at the BBC, and I’ve always believed that strong communication skills open doors far beyond the classroom. Alongside my professional experience, I supported my own daughter through the 11+, GCSE and A Level exams, which deepened my understanding of both the academic and emotional journey children face.
I love helping young people build confidence in their reading, writing and spoken English — not just to pass exams, but to prepare for the next steps in their education, university and life beyond school. Whether it’s mastering literacy skills, crafting strong essays, developing confident speech-making or preparing for school interviews, I work as a friendly but professional coach, helping students express themselves clearly and believe in their own abilities.
My one-to-one tutoring is supportive, encouraging and tailored to each child, with the aim of building confidence that lasts well beyond exam results.
