Daniel worked with my 14 year old son Louie on public speaking. Louie is autistic and very shy so finding out he had to engage in public speaking as part of his GCSE courses was causing some anxiety! Daniel gave Louie practical advice and breathing exercises and tips on how to hold himself physically all of which have made a huge difference. He is also managed to boost his confidence considerably.

I approached Daniel to assist me in preparing for the English Language and English Literature GCSE's. We started by working on developing the complexity of my essays, on increasing fluency and grammatical accuracy in writing as well as looking at model examples from newspapers. During the exercise, Daniel used his guided teaching style to pinpoint my mistakes and provided insightful advice and helpful exercises. This helped bring my writing to a new level by developing my weaknesses and expanding on my strengths.

Closer to the actual exam we worked together on practising essays, exam technique and comprehensions. I also sent a myriad of essays to Daniel to mark, all of which he provided with detailed, constructive criticism and commentary.
I also feel its important to mention that Daniel helped me write a personal statement and prepare for an interview for an application to City of London school, which was a success.

All in all, despite the fact that we had relatively few lessons together, I feel that they really did count and where absolutely instrumental in my progress from a 6 in English Language in the mock to a 9 in the GCSE.
