About Troy

I have been teaching piano for over 16+ years, working with students of all ages and levels, from young school children to adults pursuing professional growth. My teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, encouragement, and creative learning methods, ensuring that each lesson is engaging, productive, and personalized.

I have helped students perform confidently in recitals, participate in competitions, and successfully complete graded exams. Lessons cover technique, sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and performance skills, all tailored to the student’s level, interests, and goals.

I focus on combining structured practice with creative exploration to help students gain confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on compassion, clear communication, and strong support. I understand that each student has a unique pace and style of learning. In piano lessons, I focus on building both technical skill and musical understanding, using exercises that are fun and engaging.

I encourage students to ask questions and express themselves, maintaining open communication throughout the lessons. Supportiveness is central to my approach—I help students overcome difficulties patiently while celebrating their achievements.

Beyond piano, I also teach music theory, reading, and composition, applying the same compassionate and supportive techniques. My aim is to create a positive environment where students feel motivated, confident, and inspired to develop a lifelong love for music and learning.
