About Francesca
I am a dedicated Geography and Sociology tutor with a strong academic background and experience supporting students from GCSE to A-Level, achieving A* myself in both Geography and Sociology at A-level. My approach is structured, engaging and tailored to each student's needs, helping them build confidence, deepen their understanding, and achieve consistently high grades.
I offer clear, exam-focused explanations of complex concepts;
support with essay writing, case studies and evaluation skills; personalised revision plans and targeted feedback; and a calm, encouraging teaching style that builds confidence.
I combine subject expertise with a supportive, student-centred approach. My lessons are designed to strengthen core knowledge while developing the analytical skills examiners look for.

I also teach students how to study effectively, including how to plan revision, identify weak areas, and approach exam questions with a clear strategy.
I adapt my style to each student’s needs - some benefit from structured note-taking, others from visual explanations, and others from repeated practice with feedback.
Lessons are interactive- I ask targeted questions, encourage students to think aloud, and use worked examples to demonstrate how to apply notes into real questions.
Most lessons run for 60 minutes, which allows enough time to recap info from last lesson, introduce new material, and practise it. For exam preparation and planning, I also offer 90-minute sessions, or otherwise alternate lessons between covering information and answering exam questions.
I have a year of professional experience in tutoring students from grades 9 to 13, and have informal experience in teaching younger siblings throughout their GCSE and A-levels.
I teach students from GCSE to A-level, who need structured support, exam preparation, or help building confidence in their writing ability.
