About Briana
Hi, I'm Bri! I am a certified English Teacher with a bachelor's degree in English/Creative Writing and a Masters degree in Secondary Education/English Education.
One of my biggest strengths and passions is working with students individually. As a Writing Center Consultant, I supported students by setting individualized writing goals tailored to their highest-priority writing concerns ranging from organization to development to grammar and mechanics. Currently, I work for TAL Education Group, where I teach private ESL lessons online to children from China.
While teaching at Gainesville High School, I worked with a diverse group of students, honing my ability to differentiate instruction and meet students where they are. The majority of our student population was far below grade level; many students I worked with were English Language Learners and/or had a variety of special needs. This experience has helped me see the writing process from multiple student perspectives.

For each tutoring session, I collaborate with my students to set goals. Tutoring is all about what my student wants to gain, so I adapt my teaching methodology to suit my student's needs. For a skill, such as writing, I read my student's existing work to get a sense of what they can do. From there, I decide what he or she most needs to work on and tackle that first.
