About Sarah

I am a student currently studying Fashion and Textile Design BA Hons with Winchester School of Art at the University of Southampton. Last year I completed my foundation diploma in art and design with Oxford Brookes and passed with a distinction. I have past experience with tutoring within my sixth form college as head of subject, where I assisted my peers in achieving their best grades possible and helping them achieve the A-level grades that they needed to get into their dream courses and universities. I also feel that I am in a prime position in giving advice on the UCAS and university application process as I have just been through it myself and know from experience that it is often less straight forward applying for an arts-based course.

About the lesson

I have experience of mentoring students from GCSE level upwards. However I do feel that I would also be well equipped to assist students from 11 and upwards. I attempt to breakdown basic painting techniques in order to help my students to visualise how best to blend colour, create texture, and provide a real exciting movement in the images that they wish to create. I believe that creativity cannot be taught, but I have witnessed first hand many times that by providing the student with basic technological knowledge and a level of confidence in the materials that they are using, creates an endless world of possibility and gives them a strong foundation to begin building their creative journey upon.

If you wish to cancel a lesson for any given reason I would appreciate 24 hours notice. If this notice is not given then I will require that you still pay half of the total lesson price. Obviously if there are extenuating circumstances then I will wave this fee.
