About Evan

After teaching myself 5 foreign languages to above grade 9 level, I feel my personal experience in language learning has been highly successful. Yet, my experience teaching other students allows me to see equally impressive results in others. I can demystify GCSE languages and show you that they are simply methodic, not chaotic nor talent-based. Achieved 13 GCSE grade 9s, 97% in orals of DELE C1 exam accrediting a BA Hons level of Spanish (89% overall), two-time first-place winner and once commended in the University of Oxford's Anthea Bell prize for Spanish and Italian translations.

About the lesson

Lessons (60 mins) typically involve vocabulary, grammar and tips to meet all demands of the AQA GCSE syllabus for 9-1 MFL exams. Immediate access to Quizlet sets for all GCSE vocabulary for desired language(s). Grammar taught appropriately in context with vocabulary, but not overwhelmingly.

Evan unofficially tutored me for around 2 years in school. When I started, I consistently achieved 5s but in June this year I got an 8. It was thanks to patient, regular input from Evan which motivated me to continue to learn Spanish further independently. This organised, high-achieving student will get you where you want to be in the time you have. If I got an 8 without official lessons, you can get full marks. Don't pass this opportunity up.

Impeccable organisation: lessons always run smoothly thanks to advanced preparation. Evan cleverly cycles vocabulary from previous sessions in starter activities to boost retention. His knowledge and passion for the Spanish language are also remarkable - you couldn’t tell he’s not Spanish! Highly recommend!
