About Sumei
I started playing piano at the age of 3, and passed my Grade 8 Piano with Distinction in 2016. Since then I have performed in recitals, notably as part of the Youth in Music programme in the Southern Cathedrals Festival 2018. I have performed in masterclasses with Artur Pizarro and Kathryn Stott. I have experience teaching children from beginners up to Grade 5 standard.
I have just completed my gap year working as a music and languages teaching assistant in a prep school in London, where I helped teach and supervise music practice. I am currently a student at Trinity College, Cambridge in October, where I study Modern and Medieval Languages with a choral scholarship.

Our lessons will be tailored towards your specific needs. If you are working towards a specific grade (ABRSM, Trinity or any others!), then our lessons will have a focus on this. If you are a beginner, then we will set small goals, starting with note learning, technique and fluency, and working towards building up your repertoire If you want to play for fun, then I can help you learn specific pieces and suggest other pieces for you, whether you're interested in classical music or learning a song!
