About Thando
Hello, my name is Thando, and I am a passionate and experienced teacher with a strong background in Coding, Robotics, ICT integration, and English. Over the years, I’ve taught students across different phases, from primary to high school, and I always strive to make learning both meaningful and engaging. My teaching style is student-centered: I adapt my lessons to each learner’s pace, goals, and interests while ensuring that core concepts are mastered. I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel confident to ask questions, explore, and grow without fear of making mistakes. I am proficient in teaching in English and can also support learners in isiZulu and isiXhosa when needed, making lessons more accessible for multilingual students. A typical lesson with me is interactive and practical — whether it’s problem-solving in coding, hands-on robotics activities, or strengthening reading and writing skills in English. I use real-world examples and technology-based tools to make each session relevant and engaging. My approach to private tutoring is grounded in making learning engaging, practical, and tailored to each student’s needs. I believe that every learner has unique strengths, so I design lessons that bring out the best in them while building confidence. What makes me unique as a teacher is my ability to blend creativity with structure—I don’t just teach concepts, I guide students to understand why they matter and how they can apply them in real life.
I am proficient in English and isiZulu, and can comfortably teach in both languages depending on the learner’s preference.
