About Anneke
As a tutor, I believe that professionalism, integrity, and empathy are the cornerstones of fostering a positive and effective learning environment. Professionalism involves maintaining a respectful, organized, and dedicated approach to teaching, ensuring that each student feels valued and supported. It means adhering to a high standard of conduct, including punctuality, clear communication, and preparedness. Integrity is about being honest, transparent, and fair in all interactions, whether it's grading, offering feedback, or setting expectations. It builds trust between the tutor and student, creating a space where the learner can feel confident in their progress and guidance. I strongly believe that empathy is essential when acting as an academic mentor, creating a relationship that explores and fosters the expression of each student's unique voice. I have been profoundly affected by mentor/mentee relationships, and I pass this gift forward.
