About Abubakar
I am a positive individual who has an enthusiastic outlook on life. I love my job and I get a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop and grow as individuals. I am an effective communicator, both in writing and verbally, and I have a strong ability to plan and organize effectively. I use a pedagogical structure entitled “Discover / Develop / Do”. This splits the students’ learning into three phases: I use the “discover” time to introduce a new concept to the students. o It can also include examples and activities for the students, to consolidate their understanding and stretch their learning. This usually means linking the new concept to textbooks, to other prior learning upon which the new topic builds, or to other wider learning in related topics. The Develop phase builds upon the concepts introduced in “discover” lessons, using examples and exercises. These exercises begin as teacher-led, and gradually become student-led as students improve their understanding. In the Do phase, students largely execute independent work, which may include tasks applying the knowledge / skills taught to new situations.
