About Cecilia
I am a mother of two boys, ages 12 and 8, and a fur mom to our rescue mix Dixie. I am also a wife, PTA Board member, law office administrator, and lover of all things written.
As a young teen I helped in several summer camps, worked and museums, and took as many literature classes that I could. A true book worm.
I have always found a love and passion for teaching and explaining. Tutoring helps give back outside the classrooms and without all the red tape and testing traditional schooling brings with it.

As a mother with two kids who had completely different learning methods for literacy, I understand firsthand the complexities that come with building strong readers.
Early reading stimulates young brains and develops creativity. It also helps young children develop problem-solving and empathy skills. It also develops self-confidence and discipline. Early reading is one of the best ways to promote these important attributes in young children.
Having been exposed to Montessori for the last 7 years, I have come to appreciate this very unique method. The Montessori approach uses a distinct set of practices that nurture a positive, natural learning experience to teach reading and writing. The Montessori curriculum is thoughtfully built around teaching children the many elements of reading and writing one by one, in a way accessible to and enjoyable by a child. A Montessori environment ensures that children master literacy with joy.
