About Alexandra
Are you looking to master Spanish or English as a Second Language (ESL)? Look no further! With years of experience in teaching Spanish grammar, literature, writing, test prep, and verbal speaking skills, I am here to help you achieve your language goals at YOUR pace and on YOUR schedule.
I'm Alexandra, a third year medical student with a Bachelors in Spanish and Hispanic studies. Though I currently study medicine, my love for language and education has never left me! I have 5+ years of experience teaching both Spanish and English as a Second Language. My studies abroad in Ecuador are where I developed a deep love for the language and continuing education for my students. I am proficient in helping students with test preparation (beginners and advanced), building confidence in language skills, spoken Spanish studies, and more.

The best part of learning a new language is working with a tutor who helps you apply your new skills, vocabulary, and grammatical knowledge in applicable ways! My approach is to get you out of your comfort zone ... speaking, writing, and reading Spanish in ways that are applicable to real world situations and/or whatever your needs and goals for your second language are. Given my past history of teaching Spanish at Indiana University, I have multiple approaches to cater to your learning style and/or the topics you are currently covering. A typical lesson with me looks to see where you're at (grammar and vocabulary wise), where you wish to be, and how we can get there together via methods you like -- what topics should we focus our grammar lessons on, etc. are up to you. I cater to your needs!
