Maeve Harrington taught two intensive Latin 1 courses in the 2024 - 2025 academic year at a leading boarding school outside of Boston. As her mentor, I saw firsthand a young teacher who is knowledgeable and interested in her subject (Latin and Classics), energetic, thoughtful and creative in her teaching, and an excellent guide and support for student learning. Maeve designed her curriculum carefully, but she was also always ready to fine tune her plans whenever she thought of new ways to increase student engagement and improve outcomes. She made great decisions in her teaching for the benefit of her students, and they in turn loved her course.
