About Chrissie

It's safe to say that I am very passionate about literature and all things English. My interest in the subject led me to study it at A-level and University, and I have founded a film production company which specialises in literary inspired films.

I want to explore how we can make English interesting and engaging for you, how we can improve your academic grades, whilst also allowing you to explore different genres, timelines, and places that literature allows us to access.

In my free time I love spending time with my dogs (I have three) and being outside, especially in the sea. I'm certainly a creative person and I very much enjoy doing my own creative writing in the form of screenplays, painting and making films!

About the lesson

In our lessons we will take whatever approach feels suitable for you, whether that be with a focus on grades, improving technical writing skills, or simply going into more depth on the books, plays and poetry that you're studying. I also am available to tutor outside of GCSE or A-Level syllabus and tailor the sessions to your passion or interests. When I was growing up I had an English tutor who I adored, and became such a huge inspiration to me as I progressed through my further education, and now, sadly he passed away last year, his legacy has encouraged me to give back all the knowledge and sparks of passion that he gave to me.

Our lessons can be 30mins to an hour long depending on what works best for you, sometimes short bursts are better and sometimes we need an hour to really get stuck in.

I have just graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English from King's College London, and my particular interests lie in Victorian and gothic literature, and Romantic poetry - however I read a wide variety of genres and there's always something fascinating to uncover.

If you want a friendly, adaptable and positive experience where you can enhance your passion, or spark imagination or creativity, then I'd love to work with you. I'm young, smiley and very patient!
