About Samantha
Currently, I am a recent graduate from Oklahoma State University on the track of becoming a medical laboratory scientist at a nearby hospital in Tulsa, OK. I hope to one day pursue a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree to specialize in rural, primary healthcare as a general family physician. I have experience working in a laboratory setting from my alma mater, volunteering at hospitals, shadowing, leadership roles, and attending/organizing medical mission trips abroad (Guatemala, Belize, and Greece).
Fun fact about me, is that I am originally from Corpus Christi, Texas! I love the ocean life, and the incredible Mexican cuisine from my hometown. I enjoy running, baking, and watching a scary movie from time to time!

For learning the basics of microbiology, I like to approach the cell as a whole, then begin to narrow down to the specifics of different organelles, membranes, and functions. I typically enjoy using models and whiteboard techniques to help with active recall skills. My lessons would be more useful to high school students and early college students beginning their journey through the micro world. As for human anatomy, I typically like to incorporate fun, memory learning games to help distinguish the different regions of the body. These lessons would typically be for higher level college students.
