About Madilyn

When I was a junior high student, Algebra made no sense to me. I struggled understanding variables and all the equations. I failed a few of my tests, so my mom got me a tutor. Although I was embarrassed to need a tutor, I found that all I needed was someone to walk me through problems step by step, one on one. My tutor made me learn to explain what I was doing in math, which, in turn, made me become the teacher that I am today. Under my training, you will become a skilled mathematician and feel confident turning in your next test.

In contrast to my math education, my music education is far different. I have always had a natural talent when it comes to playing the violin. Though music has come easy, my college training has allowed me to find ways to teach students good technique that will stick with them forever! I started teaching violin when I was 14, but since then I have worked at three schools directing strings groups that include violin, cello, viola and string bass. I’ve also taught professional violin for 6 years.

About the lesson

I provide a fun learning experience and help you find unique ways to understand things that don’t make sense. While I’ll teach you the math or music you’re struggling with, I’ll help you learn to explain it, so you can put it into words for yourself. Being able to explain and demonstrate what you’ve learned is crucial to understanding subjects that build upon themselves each year. (like math and music)
