About Meghan
As a teacher, I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each and every day. I believe that I owe it to my students to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job in hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in the students as well. I strive to equip students with the skills that will be used inside and outside of the classroom. I will serve as a mentor, coach, and friend. I believe students construct knowledge through experiences and my role is to facilitate a learning environment where they gain rich experiences. I prioritize the students' individual needs, fostering an environment where it is conducive to their learning. Each student is unique, and they need to have an educational environment where they can prosper mentally, emotionally, and socially.

My teaching style changes to meet the needs of my students and classroom setting. When preparing lessons, I like to create a mix of auditory, visual, and hands-on activities to ensure that all the needs of my students are met. Each student is different in how they acquire knowledge; inclusion of all students enables learning within the classroom. Creating a balance between teacher and student-centered approaches allows an increase of engagement from all students. I also find it important to encourage learning and collaboration amongst my students by including group-style learning activities. While there are many different teaching styles, I like to incorporate a mixture to ensure inclusion. I want my students to learn, have fun, and to learn how to work to collaborate with one another.
