About Ella
I always grew up with a passion for history ever since I was young. I constantly pestered my family about taking trips to the Titanic Museum, the Ulster American Folk Park and Kilmainham Gaol - I was history obsessed! Throughout secondary school my passion only grew and I realised that history is just a different way of telling a story - and not something to be feared! Some of my favourite areas are twentieth-century Irish history and women's history. I followed this passion when I studied history in Trinity College Dublin for four years and then completed a M.Phil in Modern Irish History in Trinity also.

My approach to each lesson is to establish where the student is and meet them there. History can be an intimidating subject when looking from the outside but I can help students make it not so scary! I believe it is vital at the beginning to understand where the student excels and where they need assistance. From there, we will look in depth at each required area of study, including the RSR project. I believe it is important to acquire a core understanding of the history itself and create a passion for the topic. Each area will be concentrated on with tooth-comb detail. Vital things such as essay timings is also a key focus.
I obtained a H1 in my leaving certificate in history and also won Historian of the Year award in my school in 2019. My lessons are for all secondary school students from ages 12-19. Typical length of a lesson is 1 hour.
