About Summer
Hi! I’m a friendly, patient, and supportive tutor who enjoys helping students build confidence and reach their learning goals.
I have studied New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and Spanish, which has given me a strong appreciation for languages, communication, and the different ways people learn and express themselves. I’m passionate about making learning accessible, engaging, and enjoyable, and I always aim to adapt my teaching style to suit each student.
Whether you’re starting from scratch, wanting to improve your skills, or looking for extra support, I’ll work with you at your own pace in a relaxed and encouraging environment. I believe everyone can learn with the right support, and I’m here to help make that process easier and more enjoyable!

My NZSL tutoring lessons focus on building confidence in communication through practical signing, visual learning, and repetition. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals, whether they are beginners learning basic vocabulary and grammar or more advanced learners developing conversational skills. I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable practising NZSL and learning about Deaf culture.
Happy to teach beginners to intermediate signers, as I complete my BA with an elective in sign language. Typical length of a lesson 30-60 minutes
