I use a student-centered approach to emphasize active learning, scaffolded instruction, and personalized feedback. For finance, math, SAT, or college prep, I engage students with real-world applications (e.g., valuations, SAT strategies), break down complex topics, and use tools like spreadsheets to enhance understanding. Typical 60-minute lesson plan includes: -Warm-up (5 min): Review or quick problem (e.g., SAT math question, concept, writing assignment). -Core instruction (20 min): Teach a key concept (e.g., compound interest, algebra) with examples. -Guided practice (20 min): Students solve problems live with hands-on support (e.g., valuing stock, tackling SAT questions, etc.). -Independent practice (10 min): Students work alone to build confidence and familiarity with learned concept. -Wrap-up (5 min): Review takeaways and assign homework. What sets me apart as a tutor: -Expertise: Strong knowledge in finance, math, and SAT strategies. -Holistic support: Guide college prep beyond academics (essays, interviews, course selections, etc.). -Results-driven: Focus on measurable progress (e.g., higher SAT scores, better grades, and college acceptance). Who the lessons are for: -High school students: School math, SAT prep, or college readiness (applications, essays, college selection plans). -College students: Finance (e.g., valuation, portfolio management, corporate finance) -Adult learners: Financial literacy or math for career growth.
