About Jolie
I’m a Neuroscience PhD holder and medical student (Graduate Entry Medicine) at the University of Oxford, with a strong academic record and passion for teaching. I specialise in GCSE/A-Level Science tutoring. I take a personalised, structured, and results-driven approach to tutoring. My goal is to build both subject confidence and exam success by identifying each student’s unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. Teaching Methodology: I use active recall, spaced repetition, and exam-focused strategies to deepen understanding and boost retention—especially effective for science subjects and UCAT prep. Lessons are interactive, engaging, and adjusted continuously based on student progress and feedback. I often use diagrams, practice questions, and live problem-solving to reinforce key concepts. Lesson Structure: Most lessons are 60 minutes, but I also offer 90-minute intensive sessions. I provide optional homework and follow-up resources to reinforce learning between sessions. Qualifications & Experience: I hold a First-Class BSc in Neuroscience and a PhD in Neuroscience. I’ve supervised undergraduate dissertations, guest lectured, and taught scientific writing and lab techniques. Who I Teach: GCSE Science (Biology, Chemistry) – ages 13–16 A-Level Biology & Chemistry – ages 16–18 UCAT & Medical School Applicants – all ages, especially Year 12/13 or gap year students.
