About Margaret

Hi! My name is Margaret. I hold a BFA from a top 15 nationally ranked U.S. university and a dual master's degree from a U.S. Ivy League institution. I recently completed a year-long U.S. Fulbright Student Scholarship, am a registered landscape architect, and am working toward my architecture licensure (AXP completed). I achieved a perfect score (6/6) on the GRE analytical writing section.

Throughout my career I have navigated some of the most competitive application processes in professional education — graduate school, licensure, and a Fulbright fellowship. Working, studying, and teaching across multiple fields for 15+ years has taught me what reviewers actually value in an application and essay, whether you are applying to graduate school, a job, or a grant program.

About the lesson

I work with students writing personal statements, cover letters, fellowship applications, and graduate school essays across all fields. Sessions generally follow a two-step structure. The first session runs 45 minutes — we review your current materials together and identify what needs to change and why. From there, you implement the revisions yourself. Follow-up sessions range from 30 to 90 minutes depending on where you are in the process, focused on reviewing your revised materials and refining until the application is complete. I provide feedback and edits throughout, but the content and voice remain yours.

I work most often with students applying to graduate programs and competitive fellowships including Fulbright, as well as students preparing for the GRE analytical writing section. All fields and backgrounds are welcome — including career changers and international applicants working in English.

I have mentored students at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels — through office mentorship, university teaching and guest lectures, and one on one sessions. For students applying specifically to design or architecture programs, I also offer a separate session focused on portfolio development and admissions.
