About Laura

I am a sociable and dedicated native French speaker passionate about language, culture, and human connection. French is often seen as complex or intimidating, especially for English speakers, but I believe that when it’s approached intuitively and with the right guidance, progress can come quickly and naturally.

I love making lessons engaging by incorporating cultural references, arts, music, and real-life context. Learning a language should also mean discovering a culture. My background in sociology has given me strong general knowledge and analytical skills, which I enjoy sharing through meaningful discussions in French.

Teaching is deeply rewarding for me. I have already seen students gain confidence and make real progress, and I genuinely enjoy the challenge of adapting to each learner’s needs. Seeing someone grow in fluency and self-assurance is one of the most satisfying parts of what I do.

About the lesson

As a native French speaker with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology (Aix-Marseille University), I combine a structured academic approach with an engaging, supportive atmosphere. I previously tutored high school students preparing for their final exams in social sciences.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals. A typical session lasts 60 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more in-depth work). We usually begin with 20–30 minutes of focused theory (grammar, structure, vocabulary), followed by guided practice and conversation. I encourage immersive speaking, with part of the lesson conducted entirely in French to build confidence and fluency.

I work with children, teens, and adults — from beginners to intermediate learners — and adapt materials to individual needs. My goal is to balance academic rigor with a dynamic and enjoyable learning experience.
