About Jacqueline
Holding the bow correctly is, for many, the hardest hurdle to clear. I watch the way your arm interacts with the strings and offer immediate adjustments. We integrate spiccato and staccato bowing into our regular warm-ups to ensure you build proper muscle memory. Grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity candidates remains a core part of my practice.
I provide free bowing and posture reference notes after each lesson to keep you on track. We spend time on ear training to sharpen your sense of pitch. My 13 years of experience allow me to detect errors before they become habits.
The process remains grounded in steady, manageable goals. I will support your development with a clear and observant eye.

Returning learners often walk into my studio holding a violin they haven't touched in a decade. I see the hesitation in their posture as they prepare to play their first scale.
My background at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec and McGill informs how I address this physical tension. After teaching 384 students, I understand the unique needs of hobbyists and exam candidates alike. I bridge the gap between technical scales and musical expression.
