About Anthony Paul
My appreciation for academia began during my time at NYU, and because of that, I understand how daunting school can feel. As a student, I struggled with learning in large lecture halls, so I had to develop new ways to truly master the material outside of traditional methods. Through this process, I not only improved my own understanding but also helped my peers, younger undergraduates, and the students I tutored succeed academically. This approach allowed me to graduate from NYU with distinction and pursue graduate study at the University of Cambridge, a globally recognized chemistry institute, where I investigated protein misfolding in Alzheimer’s disease from a biophysical perspective. I am now pursuing an MD/PhD along with advanced training in pedagogy. I hope to help the next generation achieve even more than I will. The first step is supporting their path toward academic confidence and excellence. By sharing the methods I developed during my own education, I aim to ensure each of my students can thrive in their chosen courses.

From my personal experience at the University of Cambridge and NYU, traditional methods of education tend to fall short and fail the student. Often, professors speak at the listener rather than to the listener. What facilitated my success was digesting the information and finding the simplest terms, with direct analogies to everyday life, to describe the lesson. By being able to visualize the concepts, a higher understanding and proper application of the content naturally follows. For this reason, the theme of my teaching follows Occam's razor: the simplest explanation tends to be the best explanation, and via this simplicity, a globally better understanding of the material ensues.
My lessons are for middle school to undergraduate students studying the natural sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, general physics, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, biology, and more).
