About Bethany
Having completed my year abroad in the South of France working in a rural community, I managed to obtain both C2-level French, and a Distinction in the use of colloquial (spoken) French in my Final Honours Exams.
Over the past two years, I have participated in both voluntary mentoring schemes and private tuition programmes, teaching students of all ages and abilities the French language, and helping them improve their spoken and written language abilities, whilst also introducing them to the Francophone world through music, literature, film, and political history. With a number of students pursuing Oxbridge applications for subjects including or related to French and Modern Languages, I've had success in assisting with personal statement writing, as well as preparation for entrance exams such as the MLAT.

I'm happy to provide lessons for all ages and abilities, with lessons ranging from 20 minutes to 60 minutes.
Having taken papers in Linguistics of Modern French, I'm familiar with best practice for language acquisition techniques - however, I'm also familiar with best practice methodology for exam success, and am happy to both guide students in improving their French language skills as well as their French exam skills.
I tend to find that lessons should be conducted in French, although this may not always be appropriate depending on the student's current abilities in French.
