About Nicholas

Hiiii! My name is Mr. Rautenstrauch but you guys can call me Mr. Nick. I am here to help guide you in the right direction and to be here to support you on your education journey. I love seeing students be successful in the classroom and being a support system to help them be successful. I take tutoring students very seriously and try to make it as fun and engaging as possible. I am a very tech based tutor, so most of the worksheets and work that is assigned will be on the computer.

About the lesson

I am a student based teacher. I like when my students come to me with problems that they need help with or specific things that they need clarification on. I currently work with High School students but am certified grades K-12. A typical lesson for my students starts with a Do Now at two levels that is based on the information from the previous day. I Put up a HIGH and a LOW level Do Now and that gives my students a choice as to which they feel more confident answering. Following the Do Now is a short refresh of the previous material and having the students give me their answers to the Do Now. We then break into groups and do guided worksheets together as a class. I find that direct instruction doesn't always work with my population of students and that doing a guided worksheet helps them to understand the material better prior to delving deeper into the topic.
