About Coleman

As a pianist who has been playing since a young age, music has been the center of my life since I can remember. It sparks joy, love and passion in my heart, and my biggest passion now is to share that with people of all ages. Piano, and music itself, is an incredible outlet to express yourself and channel many facets of life all into an instrument, and that is the main focus of my teaching. I create art with my students, so no matter what, we are always creating something beautiful in the lesson room. While I am a very enthusiastic and upbeat teacher, I still focus on making sure my students get better and better each week through consistency in practice and establishing solid foundations on the piano, through any medium of learning. I have been gigging, composing, arranging, mentoring and teaching for a long time, and my goal is to be able to give the same joy I get from music.

-As an instructor, I am self-taught and have had formal training on the piano, so I can teach students of all backgrounds! (Teach by ear, by the book, etc.)
-Lesson plans consistent of a good balance of repertoire (playing pieces,) technique work (making sure your fingers can do what you want them to) and music theory (learning what is happening on the keyboard and on the page by name.)
