About Chen
Graduated from Boston University with a Master of Fine Arts in Painting, I am a professional artist who works with both oil paint and water-based mediums (acrylic, gouache, and watercolor). I exhibit my work frequently.
I have over two years of teaching experience with college-level students and have also taught high school students. The classes I have taught include painting, observational drawing, figure drawing, watercolor, and drawing/painting incorporating digital media. Having the first-hand experiences teaching at a prestigious art school, I am able to provide high-quality mentoring and teaching environment for both adults and high school students. I am confident in my ability to making your learning experience fun and enjoyable, designing a curriculum that is tailored to your level and interests, and achieving your goals.

I am known for designing fun and innovative projects in painting and drawing. Whether you're an absolute beginner aiming to draw more realistically, or you've been making art for a while and want to explore different mediums like oil paint or watercolor, I will design curriculums and projects tailored to your level and interests. I also believe that learning about art history and contemporary art is essential. Throughout our lessons, I will provide you with excellent references and introduce you to artists working with various styles, mediums, and concepts.
Additionally, I can assist high school students preparing competitive portfolios for art schools.
