About Encan
I am currently a first-year student at the University of Queensland, pursuing Bachelor of Mathematics and Secondary Education. This means I am not only building deep mathematical knowledge but also learning how to teach it effectively. While my formal tutoring experience is still developing, I have already supported a year 9 one-on-one, and I am confident in my ability to explain concepts clearly and help students grow. In my lessons, I use diagnostic questioning to uncover and address misconceptions, encourage students to explain their reasoning, and use multiple representations such as graphs, equations, and diagrams to deepen understanding. You can expect a professional, patient, and thoughtful approach to your child's learning.

-I would use scaffolding to break problems into clear and manageable steps
- Use diagnostic questioning to identify and address misconceptions
-Encourage active learning by having students explain their reasoning
- Use multiple representations to deepen understanding (graphs, equations, diagrams)
- I believe lessons should typically run for approximately 1–2 hours. For the initial (trial) session, I would recommend a shorter 30-minute lesson, allowing time to build rapport, understand the student’s learning style, and identify appropriate strategies to support their future learning.
- I am a first-year student at the University of Queensland, currently undertaking a Bachelor of Mathematics and Secondary Education. While my formal tutoring experience is limited, I am confident in my subject knowledge and ability to support students, having previously tutored a Year 9 mathematics student.
