About Moses

I'm a dedicated educator with a passion for helping students succeed. Currently, I teach ELA at both the middle and high school levels, and I'm pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in ESL (P-12). My multilingual background allows me to support English language learners at all proficiency levels, and I excel at adapting my teaching to meet each student's unique needs. Beyond the classroom, I bring extensive mentoring experience from my work as an Assistant Coach for collegiate soccer and as the founder of Hornbill Academy LLC, a private soccer training club dedicated to bridging opportunity gaps for youth. I hold Dean's List honors from Berea College and multiple professional certifications. About the lesson

Hi! My name is Moses Lian. I know what it feels like to learn a new language because I have been through the ESL education system. I understand the challenges, the frustrations, and the small victories that come with learning English as a second language—and I use that experience to guide my students with patience, empathy, and effective strategies.

With over 3 years of teaching experience, I specialize in helping English Language Learners improve reading, writing, speaking, and confidence in school. I focus on making learning clear, practical, and fun, so students feel successful every step of the way.

I am also a passionate soccer coach, which means I bring energy, motivation, and teamwork skills into my tutoring. Just like on the field, I encourage students to set goals, work hard, and celebrate every achievement.

With me as your tutor, students don’t just learn English—they grow, gain confidence, and discover their potential. I know what it takes because I’ve been there myself.
