About Abhinay

Abhinay is a passionate professional musician. He has pursued grade 8 Drums certification from Trinity College London Kolkata and Grade 5 music theory from Trinity College London. He’s been playing drums for 20 years and is actively engaged in teaching for the last 10 years. He is associated with three reputed Schools namely London College of Music (Kolkata), Roland Music School, and National High School. He has trained many students to achieve certification from different graded colleges like Trinity College London, London College Music, Rock School London, etc. In addition, he provides online private classes from different parts of the globe. As a performer, he has played in several shows all over India. Also, he has got exposure to perform in many renowned music festivals like International Hornbill Festival, MTV Session, North East Rider Meet, etc. He has also performed with Berklee’s Professor Jerome Kyles and has received several awards for performance and stage shows.

About the lesson

He makes sure that the students are taught with the right technique according to their caliber, age, and potential so that they focus on self-development, learn within a minimum time period but most importantly enjoy the class to the fullest. He gives lessons for both Bollywood and Western music (Jazz, Blues, Latin, Rock, and Pop). Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
My subject is Drums percussion since my childhood I was fascinated by this instrument!
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
My mentor inspired me to play drums and teach too, as per him, teaching will give me a more profound insight into this instrument.
How does your work help society?
My music lessons transport my students from their everyday monotonous routine to some blissful relaxing time, which plays a very crucial part in mental health, about which our society should be concerned about.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My mentor is my role model because he is one of the best Drummers as well as the best Drums teacher.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Traveling and driving a car.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
A few years back I was contacted by a parent to teach a specially-abled child. At first, I was a bit tensed since I have never done that but then I took it as a challenge and now that particular student is doing great and giving Trinity grades on exams. This boosted my confidence, and since then I have started teaching other specially-abled children, and now I have a few specially-abled students who are taking lessons from me and I am very happy to teach them.
