About Asako

Soprano Asako Tamura has been praised by the press as a first-class singing actress, a brilliant jewel of a voice. Since when she sang with 3 Tenors as the soloist before the World Cup in 2002, she has performed a wide variety of roles in EU, USA and Japan. Won numerous International Competitions and was honored to sing the National Anthem at the Exhibition Game of the Yankees vs the Nationals. She appeared as a leading role at many opera companies in diverse countries and numerous concerts with important orchestras such as Met opera orchestra, Rome festival BBC orchestra. Utilizes piano skills honed since childhood, providing accompaniment for fellow voice students and seniors during their studies in music conservatories in both Japan and the United States. Will perform as a guest accompanist on some occasions. Lives in New York, Kyoto-Joyo goodwill ambassador.
