About Mairi
I was born and grew up in Indonesia, I spoke Indonesian half of the time daily basis. I studied Indonesian from Kindergarten until Year 9 and in an International school.
I moved to South Australia in 2018, continued to study Indonesian and will take on this subject at University in February 2022. I still speak Indonesian regularly and find it exciting to help and work together with the teacher to support Indonesian students at the local school.
I want to teach because I enjoy helping and teaching others. Apart from getting to know other people of different ages, academic levels and backgrounds, I am keen to learn new things from others (dis)regarding the subjects that will be discussed. I believe that this will not only develop my own knowledge but also other students that I will be teaching.

Capable to provide Indonesian language and culture lessons for any level and age for all high school levels and ages.
Length of a Normal Lesson:
- 1 HR
- 1.5 HRS
- 2 HRS (10-min break in between
Length of Test/Exam Preparation Lessons:
- 2 HRS (10-minute break in between)
- 2.5 HRS (10-minute break in between)
- 3 HRS (10-minutes after every hour)
Qualifications and experience:
INDONESIAN:
Native Indonesian speaker. Studied Indonesian from Kindergarten until Year 9 in Indonesia. Studied Year 11 Indonesian in Year 10 (2019) and finished Year 12 Indonesian in Year 11 (2020) in South Australia.
Final Year 12 Indonesian Grade: A-.
Volunteering since 2018 to help and teach South Australian Year 8 - Year 11 Indonesian students at the local high school.
Able to help with:
- English based questions and answers
- Translating task (Eng to Indo & Indo to Eng)
- Oral assignments, test and exams
