About Aaliyah
In addition to small group tutoring sessions, I have proven experience of providing teacher assistance and tailored support to students in special education settings, with a focus on IEP objectives including academic skills, behavior management, and independent living skills.
I developed and implemented weekly lesson plans customized to each individual student’s needs which enhanced their learning experiences and progress.
I also maintained confidentiality and collaborated with teachers and specialists to support prescribed programs including PT, OT, and SLP.
With me as your tutor, I will ensure to deliver developmentally appropriate instruction to you that will promote your key developmental milestones.

Unlike a lot of tutoring sessions, I don’t make my 1 on 1s and small groups’ progress and scores the sole focus of my lessons. I like to make my sessions very creative. For example, I prompt open-ended discussions to stimulate critical thinking and curiosity among my students and get them to engage in our sessions. This also aids them in remembering the top take aways such as key strategies, rules, and examples. I even use props to help carry out the lesson plans.
I also take delight in my skill to spot students’ weakness(es) as well as strengths early on in our teacher-student relationship, so that I can effectively plan and implement all my upcoming lessons!
