About Gusztav
I am passionate about helping students navigate challenging academic subjects and develop the confidence to engage with complex ideas. Having studied and researched international affairs, history, and security studies at leading UK universities, I understand the demands of higher-level academic work and the importance of clear, structured thinking.
My experience working with students, alongside my involvement in research and policy-focused roles, has allowed me to support learners from diverse academic backgrounds. I aim to create an encouraging and professional learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring new perspectives, strengthening their analytical abilities, and achieving their academic objectives.

My teaching is discussion-based and tailored to each student's academic goals. I focus on developing critical thinking, clear argumentation, and analytical writing rather than memorisation, helping students build the skills needed for independent research and high-quality coursework.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are structured around the student's needs, whether that is understanding course material, improving essays, preparing for exams, or refining dissertation work. I hold a BSc from the London School of Economics and an MLitt from the University of St Andrews, and have several years of tutoring experience alongside managing tutoring operations for a team of over 100 tutors.
I teach undergraduate and Master's students in International Relations, History, Political Science, and related fields, providing support with coursework, research methods, dissertations, and academic writing.
